    Pre K Team

    Tracy CooperTracy Cooper graduated from University of Louisiana at Monroe in Monroe, LA where she earned a BA in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for 15 years. Tracy enjoys teaching little minds. She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past five years. In her spare time, she does activities with her kids and pets. She also enjoys taking naps, watching her children grow up, playing with her animals and crafting projects on her Cricut machine.

     

     

     

    Melissa ShurlingMelissa Shurling graduated from LSU in Shreveport where she majored in Early Childhood Education.  She has been teaching for 9 years in Pre-K.  She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past 9 years. In her spare time, she and her husband Travis enjoy watching LSU and New Orleans Saints football games. She also enjoys playing endless games with her 5 year old son Maxwell.

     

     

     

    Catherine ChildressKatherine Childress Toups graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches where she majored in General Studies. She went on to complete her teaching certification at Louisiana Tech University.  She has been teaching for a total of five years and has spent the last two years teaching Pre-K at Mansfield Elementary. She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past two years. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, playing video games, and reading in her spare time.

     

    Michelle WebMichelle Webb graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston where she received a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education. She has been teaching for 4 years. Michelle loves teaching PreK and is beginning her third year in PreK. She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past three years. In her spare time, she likes to sew and embroidery.  Her husband, Jerry, works for Loaded Motorsports where he works on ATVs to ride in the mud.  They both enjoy spending time with each other and with their children, Zechariah (10), Ruth Ann (8), and Claudia (5).

    Kindergarten Team

    Emily StephensEmily Stephens was born and raised here in Desoto Parish. I graduated from Stanley High School in 2013. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing with my pets – a dog named Allie and a cat named Luna – and researching fun activities and new ideas to bring into my classroom! I attended LSUS and graduated in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood education. Along with my degree, I also have an English Language Learners (ELL) add-on certification. I student taught for half a year at Kerr Elementary in Bossier City before landing here at Mansfield. I hope to instill a love of learning that will follow my students through all the days of their lives!

     

    Pennie Childress graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches where she majored in Early Childhood Education. She has been teaching for 17 ½ years, 13 ½ years in Pre-K and 4 years in Kindergarten. She/he has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past 17 ½ years. In her spare time, she enjoys hunting and fishing. She also enjoys spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren, Jacob, Tenlee, and Locklyn.

    Shalonde Head received her Early Childhood certification from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA.  She has been teaching kindergarten for ten years as part of the Mansfield Elementary family and enjoys watching her kindergartners grow.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, shopping, and reading.

    First Grade Team

    Courtney AndersonCourtney Anderson graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La where she majored in Early Childhood Education (Pk-3). She has been teaching for 2 years. Courtney enjoys teaching all subjects but her favorite subject to teach is Reading/Writing. She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for two years. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, traveling, seeing musicals, and reading.

     

    Cathy HoseyCathy Hosey graduated from LSU in Shreveport where she majored in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for 23 years in PK, K, 1st and 2nd grades. Mrs. Hosey enjoys teaching all subjects to her first grade students. She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past seven years. In her spare time, she and Gregg (her fabulous husband of 35 years) enjoy watching New Orleans Saints games and traveling. She also enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren.

    Jacki Youngblood graduated from Northwestern State University with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. After working more than 15 years in the mental health field, she felt called to become an elementary teacher. Mrs. Youngblood completed the iteachLOUISIANA alt cert program and is certified in pre-kindergarten through fifth grades. This is her second year teaching First Grade, but her first year as a Mansfield Wolverine. In her leisure time, Mrs. Youngblood enjoys having fun with her husband and two daughters, serving her community through Fellowship Community Church, reading, and shooting archery.

    Second Grade Team

    Amanda GastonAmanda Caston graduated from LSUS where she majored in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for 12 years. Most of that time has been in the 2nd grade. Amanda enjoys teaching Science and Social Studies. She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past 12 years. In her spare time, she spends time with her husband, Wesley, and her 3 sons: James, Levi and Owen. She also enjoys reading.

     

    Rebekah DicksonRebekah Dickson graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago where she majored in Political Science.  She received her teaching certificate from LSUS.  She/he has been teaching for 9 years in either 1st or 2nd grade. Rebekah enjoys teaching Math, especially place value. She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for her entire teaching career. In her spare time, she and her husband, Kole Dickson, enjoying working with their horses or playing World of Warcraft.  They celebrated the birth of a foal on June 5, 2017 and are enjoying watching it learn and grow.  

    Martha FontcubertaMartha Fontcuberta graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches where she earned a Master of Arts in Teaching.  This is her fourth year teaching at Mansfield Elementary where she loves teaching second graders and being a member of the MES family!  In her spare time she enjoys gardening and spending time with her family. 

     

    Thelma Williams graduated from Wiley college with A Bachelors in Business Administration and from Ashford University with a Master’s in Early Childhood Education. This will be my 5th year teaching but my first year in 2nd grade (I am moving up from my little friends in first grade). I know we have a wonderful year ahead of us full of learning, laughter, and growth. I am very passionate about Math and will do my best to make every day fun! I am very excited to be a part of the Wolverines this year and I plan to make it an eventful year full of learning, laughter, and growth.

    3rd Grade

    Elaine NeugentElaine Neugent graduated from Northwestern State University (NSU) in Natchitoches where she majored in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for 14 years in 2nd - 12th. Mrs. Neugent enjoys teaching  social studies. She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past 2 ½  years. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and time with her children.

     

     

    Cheri AdamsCheri Adams is a graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she majored in early childhood education. She joined the Mansfield Elementary School family seven years ago. She fell in love with teaching second grade ELA and is beginning her fifth year in second grade. Cheri is also an avid animal lover. When she's not preparing for her students, she enjoys salsa dancing, shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

     

     

    4th Grade

     

    Martini GriffinMartini Griffin graduated from Louisiana State University-Shreveport where she majored in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for 7 years in 3rd Grade. She enjoys teaching English/Language Arts and Social Studies. She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past 8 years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family/friends, writing, reading, and listening to various genres of music, as well as, a few TV shows that she enjoys. When not busy, she enjoys relaxing in nature.

     

    Rachael GriffinRachael Griffin graduated from Louisiana State University – Shreveport in 2006 where she majored in Political Science. She received her Master’s Degree in Teaching from Northwestern State University in 2016. This will be her third year teaching social studies as part of the Mansfield Elementary family. In her spare time, she and her husband William love to travel with their three daughters. She also enjoys cooking, reading, and watching movies.

     

     

    Kimberly BlackmonKimberly Blackmon graduated from the University of Louisiana in Monroe, Louisiana where she majored in Elementary Education 1-5. She has been teaching for 6 years and this is her first year teaching Fourth Grade.  Mrs. Blackmon enjoys teaching Science. She has been a part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past two years. In her spare time, Mrs. Blackmon enjoys crafting, dancing, and shopping.  Mrs. Blackmon is also the new Cheer Coach of the Mansfield Middle School Cheer Team! 

    Beverly SandersBeverly Sanders graduated from Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana where she dual majored in Elementary Education and Special Education. She has been teaching for 19 years in every grade level except 2nd grade. Mrs. Sanders enjoys teaching, PERIOD. She says she was born to be a teacher.  She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past ten years. In her spare time, she and her husband, Carl, enjoy watching action TV shows and movies, traveling and spending time with family. She also enjoys crafts, reading, graphic design and learning new things.

    Enrichment

    Sybil WhiteSybil White graduated from Centenary College in Shreveport, LA where she majored in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for 27 years in 4th grade, 5th grade, library, and now music. Ms. White enjoys teaching ELA and Social Studies, and now she enjoys teaching music. She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past 17 years since the school was built. Before that, she was a part of the Johnson Elementary family here in Mansfield before it was closed. In her spare time she enjoys singing and traveling. 

     

    Heather GreerHeather Greer graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in Monroe, Louisiana where she majored in Kinesiology. Coach Greer has been teaching for 7 years. She has taught both PE for three years at the elementary level, and three years she taught middle and high school English. Coach Greer enjoys teaching her students how to work together as a team in order to complete their activity/game. She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past four years. In her spare time, she loves to play peek-a-boo with her 2 year old son, Liam.

    Coach Mychal WordCoach Mychal Word graduated from University of Louisiana at Monroe in Monroe, Louisiana, where he majored in Physical Education. He has been teaching elementary physical education for 5 years from K thru 5th grade. Mr. Word enjoys teaching the importance of being healthy for a lifetime. He has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past four years. In his spare time, he runs, read comic books, and enjoy watching movies. He also enjoys coaching kids in his favorite sport of track and field.

     

    Shirlynda SpencerShirlynda Spencer graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana where she majored in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for 20 years, 18 in P.E. and 2 in second grade. Mrs. Spencer enjoys teaching health and fitness related activities in P.E. She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past 20 years. In her spare time, Mrs. Spencer and husband, Leon, enjoy watching NBA basketball games. She also enjoys playing the piano, shopping and spending time with her 4 children Lesa, Laila, Lyric and Leon Jr.

    Susie Scott Susie Scott graduated from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana where she majored in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for 31 years. Ms. Scott has taught kindergarten, 1st grade, preschool and library. She enjoys helping her students develop a love of learning, Ms. Scott has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past 25 years. In her spare time, she enjoys watching word game shows. She also enjoys reading and traveling.  
     

    Amy Faith HaireAmy Faith Haire is a graduate of  from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana where she majored in elementary education and later earned a Master of Education degree. As a National Board Certified Teacher, she loves living and teaching in DeSoto parish. She has been teaching for 21 ½ years, and has been a part of the MES family for 8 years. Amy loves teaching her students how to problem solve, imagine, dream, and create! Away from school, she loves going to church, spending time with family, sewing, and gardening. 

    Master Teachers

    Rolanda HewittRolanda Hewitt graduated from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana where she/he majored in Business Management.  She later received her Elementary Certification from LSU-S. She/he has been teaching for 13 years in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades.  She is currently a master teacher supporting math teachers.  She truly enjoys teaching math. She has been part of the Mansfield Elementary family for the past five years. In her spare time, she enjoys her family, hanging with friends, reading, traveling, and going to church. She also enjoys hanging out on her couch and reading or playing on her iPAD.
